Funds needed to further education.

Berry 2000 started this conversation

I am attending the Medical College of Georgia next Fall. I am in the Certificate program for Nuclear Medicine Technology.

I have been accepted twice already, but was unable to attend due to financial reasons. Now, I have a young Son that I am responsible for and have to work full-time to support him as well asĀ  myself.

I have a B.S. and I am not eligible for Federal Aid (Pell) in the program at MCG because it is not a Master's program and, as mentioned already, I have a B.S.

I know that I have so much potential and truly want to be in the medical field. However, if I am unable to come up with the necessary funds, I will most likely be unable to attend schoo lnext Fall.

Hi Berry 2000, Here is one more suggestion. Depending on what discipline (maths, chemistry, physics, biology, etc.) your B.S degree is, you could check for organizations, specialized in energy, medical, etc. studies. For instance, for energy related grants, take a look at this: http://department-of-energ y-1.idilogic.aidpage.com/depar tment-of-energy/funding.htm This and the other two links can also be found in the next section - Browse... and contribute... useful links...

Hi Berry 2000, Is the Federal Aid (Pell) program the only place you have checked for funding your Certificate Program? There must be other places, besides Pell, where you can go and ask for money. For instance, why don't you try this one: http://www.georgia.gov/00/ channel_title/0,2094,4802_4967 ,00.html Their site reads that they offer funding for nontraditional students and for any kind of education, not only Master's Programs. You may want to check this as well: http://www.gsfc.org/HOPE/I ndex.cfm Hope it works for you!
